Eggless Omelette Recipe

This omelette is vegan, delicious and easy to make. We have the besan or gram flour binding the chilies, the onion and the tomato together in this recipe. The omelette recipe can be tweaked with by adding some bell peppers, ginger etc. The besan omelette is quite heavy and can also be a solid stand-alone snack.
Spread the batter with a ladle
Ingredients:
- Besan / Gram Flour: 1 Cup
- Onion: 1
- Tomato: 1
- Green Chili: 1
- Jeera / Cumin Seeds: 1/2 tsp
- Pepper Powder or Red Chili Powder: 1/2 tsp
- Salt
- Coriander leaves
- Oil
Preparation:
- Chop the onion, green chili and tomato into fine pieces
- Chop the coriander leaves
Method:
- Mix all the dry ingredients: besan, jeera, pepper/chili powder and salt
- Add the chopped onion, tomato, green chili and coriander and mix well
- Add water and mix to form a batter similar to a pancake or dosa consistancy
- Heat a pan, preferably a non-stick one
- If the pan sizzles at the sprinkle of some water then it is hot enough
- Pour a ladle of batter on the pan and spread it like a pan cake or dosa with the back of the spoon
- Flip the omelette when one side is done
- The omelette cab also be covered while cooking
- Once it is done on both sides, remove the omelette and it is ready to be served
